England is the only team to win test series in india from behind (that is win from 1-0 position).
They have done it twice, The last time England won test series in india was in 1984/85, in that series too
they lost 1st test and then won the series 2-1.
England have done it twice to win test series in india from behind, No other team didnt manage even 1.
Alastair Cook was 42 days old Baby when England last won test series in india 1984/85
Cook was born on 25th december, 1984

Overall stats for the teams in the series
England Scored 2314 runs at an Avg. of 40.59 with 6 100's and 8 50'd to go with 7 100 run and 7 50 run partnerships.
England took 58 wickets with 3 5 wickets and 1 10 wicket haul.
India Scored 1959 runs at an Avg. of 33.77 with 4 100's and 8 50'd to go with 4 100 run and 9 50 run partnerships.
India took 57 wickets with 2 5 wickets and 0 10 wicket haul.
Panesar and Swann (20 wickets) combined to finish the series with 37 wickets at an average of 25.70. In contrast, the Indian spin pair of Ashwin and Ojha ended with 34 wickets at a much higher average of 39.82.
Cook also set a record for the most deliveries (1,285) faced by a visiting captain in a series in India and ended the four-match series with a total of 562 runs at an average of 80.28. Among visiting captains, only Clive Lloyd (636 runs in 1974-75) and Kim Hughes (594 runs in 1979-80) have scored more runs in a series than Cook. But Cook's average is second to Lloyd's 82.66 in the 1983-84 series which West Indies won 3-0. Interestingly, four of the top five (Lloyd twice) are left-handers.
Cook, the leading run-getter for England in the series, was largely untroubled by pace or spin. He was dismissed only once by the fast bowlers (in the final Test in Nagpur) and averaged 140 against them. Against spinners, Cook averaged 84.40 and was dismissed five times (four times by Ashwin).

Re: Thread for England Tour of India, 2012/13 (2)
Some serious stats:
1.England’s spinners took 39 wickets in the four Tests, the most by English slow bowlers in a series since the 1978-79 Ashes, and the most taken by visiting tweakers in India since Australia’s tour in 1969-70. Swann, Panesar and their various slow-bowling underlings collectively averaged 28.6 ‒ the second best average by touring twirlers in the last 34 series of three or more Tests in India, since England’s victorious tour of 1976-77 (bettered only by Australia’s Michael-Clarke-unaccountably-taking-6-for-9-enhanced spin average of 23.3 in 2004-05).
2.England’s spinners’ economy rate of 2.65 was the best by a visiting tweak attack in India since Zimbabwe’s slow bowlers went for just 2.57 per over in a two-Test series in 2001-02.
3.It was the first time in 13 home series that India’s slow bowlers have averaged more than their opponents’, dating back to the 2004-05 series against Pakistan.
4.Root’s debut meant that England have fielded 21 different players in Tests in 2012, their most since 2003, when 27 players donned the three lions, 12 of whom never played for England again.

Re: Thread for England Tour of India, 2012/13 (2)
5.The 12 centuries England scored this year is their lowest tally since 2003, and their collective 2012 batting average of 30.6 is the lowest since they averaged 25.7 in 2001.
6.England end 2012 with a record of five wins, three draws and seven losses from their 15 Tests – their joint most defeats since losing eight out of ten in a spectacularly disastrous 1993, and only the second time in the last ten years that they have lost more Tests than they have won (they won five, lost six in 2006). They had lost only five of 36 Tests from 2009 to 2011.
7.India’s spinners averaged 42% more than England’s, the biggest margin by which they have been outbowled in a home series since the tied-Test rubber against Australia in 1986-87, when Yadav, Shastri and Maninder Singh (average 54.7) were bested by Matthews and Bright (33.8) – an offspinning allrounder and a bearded left-armer.

Kevin Pietersen's return to the England set-up is likely to be given a final stamp of authority by the ECB with the upgrading of his four-month central contract to a full, year-long one.
"The contract won't be a problem," Flower said. "Kevin has been excellent in every way. We don't all always get on with people all of the time - any of us in any walk of life - and everyone has made an effort to make it work."
