57.6 R Jadeja to Bell
4 FOUR! That wasn't far from
the fielder! Rocks back and
whips it uppishly through Ojha
at short mid-wicket. The ball
beats Chawla into the fence.

59.3 I Sharma to Bell
4 FOUR! Crack! Length outside
off, Bell stands tall and crunches
it handsomely through the
covers.

Re: SHAMMY SAM - Sports Centre
A great last session for England.
The partnership between Bell
and Trott has ensured safety in
this game for their side. India
will feel that the chance of
winning is slipping away and
that would also mean a series
loss at home. Having said that,
we still have the fifth day
tomorrow but if action
continues at this pace, both the
skippers might shake hands
early in the evening tomorrow.
Still, we will hope for some
action

Former
Australian
leg spinner
Stuart
MacGill has
backed a
return to the
Test team
for Shane
Warne,
saying he is good enough but
needs to prove he has the
stamina to cope with the five-day
game.
A dearth of top-quality spinners
has fuelled a campaign to bring
back Warne, with the 43-year-old
doing little to douse the
speculation, recently saying he
"absolutely no doubt" he could
bowl successfully at Test level
again.
MacGill, who took 82 of his 208
Test wickets playing alongside
Warne, said he would pick him.
"I'd play him," he told Sydney's
Sun-Herald.
"Should he be picked? If any
selector said he shouldn't be
picked, that it's not in the best
interests of Australian cricket, I
laugh at them.
"I'm interested in Australian
cricket winning. Not in 10 or 15
years, but every day.
"The best way to win in 10 or 15
years is for it to be on the tail
end of a huge streak. You pick
your best team on any given day
and if Shane Warne is available,
then he's in it."
Earlier this month, Warne said
that if Australian skipper Michael
Clarke suggested his services
were needed for the Ashes

Re: SHAMMY SAM - Sports Centre
Sri Lanka's erstwhile captain
Tillakaratne Dilshan and their
likely next leader Angelo
Mathews did their best to drag
their team back into the Test on
the third day at Bellerive Oval, but
a relentless Peter Siddle ensured
Australia remained well on top.
Again the weather in Hobart was
fickle, leading to all sorts of
session adjustments, and by the
time a late stumps time arrived
Australia's advantage had grown
to 141, leaving them to set Sri
Lanka a target over the next two
days.

Re: SHAMMY SAM - Sports Centre
Australia face the grim prospect
of trying to win a Test with only
three specialist bowlers for the
second time in three matches
after Ben Hilfenhaus shuffled off
Bellerive Oval with a left side
strain that has placed him in
doubt for the rest of the Sri
Lanka series.
After bowling the second ball of
his 13th over to Sri Lanka's vice-
captain Angelo Mathews,
Hilfenhaus grimaced, felt for his
hip or side, spoke briefly to his
captain Michael Clarke and left
the field, leaving Shane Watson to
complete the over.

England 330 and 161 for 3 (Trott
66*, Bell 24*) lead India 326 for
9 dec (Kohli 103, Dhoni 99,
Anderson 4-81) by 165 runs
Jonathan Trott helped settle a
slightly nervy England as they
closed in on a famous series
victory in Nagpur, reaching the
close of the fourth day with a
lead of 165. He and Ian Bell
added 67 for the fourth wicket
after India had given themselves
a glimmer by removing Kevin
Pietersen shortly after tea with
England's advantage still less
than 100. Now England are a
solid morning session away from
their goal.

Re: SHAMMY SAM - Sports Centre
To pretend the upcoming series
between South Africa and New
Zealand is only about cricket
would be to remember Hansie
Cronje without the match-fixing.
Some are able to leave the
pleasant parts untainted with the
nasty stain of the
unmentionables but for most it's
unavoidable. At least Brendon
McCullum, the New Zealand
captain, is part of the latter camp.
An already challenging tour
became much more difficult for
New Zealand when Ross Taylor
withdrew from the squad. It
exposed an embarrassing
miscommunication in the
administration and although
apologies have been issued
since, it has still left New Zealand
more vulnerable than they would
otherwise have been.

Re: SHAMMY SAM - Sports Centre
Inzamam-ul-Haq, Pakistan's
former captain and newly-
appointed batting consultant,
has advised his batsmen to be
'aggressive' against India. The
team that handles pressure
better, he said, could control how
the matches go in the upcoming
limited-overs series'.
Pakistan are preparing for the
India series with a conditioning
camp at the Gaddafi Stadium in
Lahore, and Inzamam will spend
the week with the batsmen to
assist them. Since his retirement
in 2007, Inzamam had not been
associated with Pakistan cricket
in any form, running a business
instead; this is the first in five
years that he has taken up a role
with the team.

Re: SHAMMY SAM - Sports Centre
The Bangladesh Cricket Board is
in talks with the Pakistan Cricket
Board about a short tour to the
country next month. BCB
president Nazmul Hassan said
that the talks are now all about a
suitable timeframe for the tour.
"We can't go in December so we
will speak to the PCB today, about
whether we can fit in a small
tour before the BPL," Hassan told
ESPNcricinfo.
Bangladesh's proposed tour to
Pakistan hit a snag earlier this
year when, on April 19, a Dhaka
court order embargoed a series
between the two scheduled for
the end of April.
In November, Hassan said that
the BCB had made a "written
commitment" to the PCB to go
ahead with the tour.

Melbourne Stars 6 for 135
(Laughlin 3-14) beat Hobart
Hurricanes 8 for 134 (Paine 46,
McKay 3-24) by four wickets
Shane Warne did not take a
wicket but left a mark
nonetheless as the Melbourne
Stars edged past the Hobart
Hurricanes in the final over of the
BBL match at the MCG.
Adding an edge to a contest
already noteworthy as Ricky
Ponting's first domestic match
since his international
retirement, Warne offered a
barbed critique of the Australian
Twenty20 captain, George Bailey,
who battled to 28 from 26 balls
before falling victim to Cameron
White.
