Re: Thread for England vs South Africa Series (2)
6.45pm The news of the inspection is that there are areas of concern around the edges of the square, as such there will be another inspection at 7.15pm. If a match can start at 8pm, it would be 13-overs per side.

Re: Thread for England vs South Africa Series (2)
7.20pm So many players and officials out on the ground now, they've been warming up and milling around for ages. The umpires have inspected again and are now having a good chat to both captains. The covers are off and the pitch is being prepared but it seems like the umpires are concerned about backward point for the right hander at the pavilion end...common sense for the fans, get the game going, or elite athletes about to go out to a major tournament, do they need to play in first-class conditions...

Re: Thread for England vs South Africa Series (2)
Here we have some action, England are in a huddle and a cap has been presented to Danny Briggs...so that means that we are going to get some cricket surely...but the umpires are going to inspect again at 7.40pm because they have "concerns about certain areas"...

Re: Thread for England vs South Africa Series (2)
Right, good news, we are going to have a toss at 7.52pm - what the? - and a start time at 8.12pm - can you Adam and Eve it? What on earth is that rubbish about. It gets funnier because it's going to be an 11-over per side match! Why oh why is cricket so so silly sometimes
