Re: KFC Big Bash 2013-14
Perth won by 6 runs over Hobart.
Sydney thunder at home are currently playing the Brisbane Heat....Nannes bowled well for the thunder ending with figures of 4-0-21-3-5.25 but only after chris lynn proving to be the most consistent player EVER!!!! scored 56 from 35 complete with 6 sixes!
Currently the thunder are 10/0 off 2 overs with mike hussey in the dugout waiting.

Re: KFC Big Bash 2013-14
not part of the BBL....but Scott Styris returned to form after struggling since his return in october from playing in Bangladesh with Gazi tank....he hit a 48 from 18 balls that's a strike rate of 266.66 and also took 2 key wickets of batsmen number 4 and 5. Northern Knights playing in the HRV Cup have struggled in the 2nd half of the t20 cup after (adelaides) Daniel Harris and (hobarts) Ben Laughlin had to head home for BBL duties. With Daniel Harris back for this latest match the team looked in better shape and consequently won the match after two losses back to back. they won by 29 runs.
Also today in the HRV cup, Otago Volts (BB mccullums and current NZ coaches old team) and Wellington treated cricket revellers to a mammoth game of t20 amassing a total of 407 runs between them.
Otago scoring 204 in the 20 overs with 'not so long ago' blackcap Hamish Rutherford 79(44) and Ryan Ten Doeschate 45*(18) - 250 strike rate.
Winning -JUST!
Over Wellington who scored 203 in the 20overs....Tendo getting smashed 42 off 18 balls. Former blackcap Grant Elliot getting out with 2 balls to spare on 70(42) and big time player James Franklin 68*(37)

BBL SYDTH v HEAT
Thunders RR has increased since the injection of hussey, although the RRR has too....not many boundaries but not a ball is wasted as hussey and khawja look to get even just a single of any delivery....khawaja though succumbed to the medium pace of James Hopes and he departed for a run a ball 22. Hussey is joined by youngster Kurtis Patterson who hasn't shown much in his 3 games this season with only one score in double digits and that was hit t20 career high 18! and just as I type that he's caught leg before and makes way for fella that's a wee bit more experience as this is his 11th game in t20. He will need to
imitate last matches career high 37* if Sydney want to have any chance even with hussey still there....RRR over 10 and once that snowball effect starts happening it can look like 15 very quickly.
95 runs from 54 balls required

Heat slowly running out of partners for Hussey! as Floros helps the bowler by getting a inside edge to set the ball right on his castle. Atleast we know vettori is no fool with the bat, but first we got to get through this middle order. After 2 youngsters, out comes the well travelled (played for Scotland and Netherlands aswell as aussie domestic) Cameron Borgas. Calm cool and CRAZY is required right now!
Hussey now 46(28) and still going for those singles! 80 from 42 needed and the RRR isn't easing anytime soon 11.42

Re: KFC Big Bash 2013-14
And 24yr old Cameron Gannon has pretty much wrapped the game up in one over. 3 wickets in one over for 4 runs....first strike was hussey who got caught for 60 and with that strike was any glimpse of hope that the thunder had of winning or getting within the par score for this match. Oh and Ajantha Mendis is playing for the thunder.....hit two back to back fours and got out. Now Heat get a run out and its all over rover...Heat win comfortably in the end as the RRR was 18 and not looking like stopping. 48 run win for the Heat. And Cameron Gannon has the Sydney siders firmly baffled as he out did his last games performance of 4/28 against the 6ers as he finished with 4/10 off 2.2 and the wicket of mr cricket who had even mr James Hopes over the ropes and Hopes had everyone else in the thunders ranks bewildered.
Look out for Gannon in a test team into the future the kid has played 14 1st class matches for a avg of 25.89 and 2.69 econ
With every game the Thunders loosing streak increases....the most luckless team in the modern era of sport? And like normal Hussey is well deserving of any paycheck a team gives him!

Re: KFC Big Bash 2013-14
Thurday night BBL is the Adelaide strikers taking on the leaders - Melbourne Stars.
Adelaide won the toss, and chose to bat.....after 20 overs they managed only 90 runs (90/9) that's a run rate of 4.50!!! Klinger top scored for the strikers with 42(49). The only other batsmen for the strikers to get in double digits was the Australian Kane Richardson who scored 21(24) even imports Alex Hales and Shakib were helpless in this impressive display of bowling and total capitulation of the strikers.
Malinga took some seriously good figures of 4-0-8-2-4.00 and Faulkner right there with him with 4-1-9-3-2.25 scoring a very rare maiden! (whilst bowling to batsmen 1,3,4 - whom he got out)

The Stars Chase has started and if you are a strikers fan then you would be switching the tv off/leaving the stadium as tonight Luke Wright wants to get this over with quickly.....36(14) balls and 24 all in fours from Tait so far. White is out in the middle as well rotating the strike back. This exact thing happened in there last match, although the batsmen the other way around.

And just like that we have two new batsmen in....Wright(49 from 20) and White(13 from 12) both falling in the first two balls of the Strikers SUPER IMPRESSIVE youngster Michael Nesser (who was born in South Africa but grew up in Aussie) .
62/2 5.2 overs
Wade and Maxi the new batsmen

Re: KFC Big Bash 2013-14
Maxi looking to carry on from where Wright left. Although Neser a bit unlucky as a top edge goes over the slips for 4.
And Tait bowls the 7th over and was greeted with a 4 from Maxi, then recovered well with 3 dots.
Wade happy to get the single at the start of the over to allow his partner a crack at the strikers end. Which Maxwell does in style. finishing the innings with a four that was clobbered! All power. Who need finesse? And a Six - unlucky again for Neser. Maxi goes again for a BIG HEAVE HO! and gets a nasty top edge which we have seen many times in this format, and carries over the wicketkeeper for the maximum.
Maxi 25(10) Wade 2(3)...Stars 91/2 from 7.3 overs winning by 8 wickets with 75 balls remaining (RR = 12.13)

Re: KFC Big Bash 2013-14
Not BBL related, and it is from Pakistan, however any cricket fan regardless of differences will appreciate this knock....in a domestic four day game (still in progress) Habib Bank Limited batted first vs PakTV....was a great start for PakTV as they had Habib at 3 for 5 off 5 overs! and two wicket maidens.
Then at 4-22 from 10 overs the game was really in PakTVs hands, and slowly captain Imran Farhat along with Rameez Aziz 152(296) and wicketkeeper Humayun Farhat 73(62) wrestled control back and ultimately what could be the win from such a precarious position in only the 10th over of the entire match. Imran Farhat amassed a total of 300(417) not out at a decent strike rate of just under to 72.00
Habib declared on 599/7 and made PakTV follow-on after only managing to scrap to 108, and 153 all out.
During the typing of this - the match has been completed and won by Habib Bank Limited by an innings and 338 runs

BREAKING NEWS
Melbourne Renegades have today been given the green light by the BBL Technical Committee. That green light allows to go forward with the recruitment of West Indian captain Dwayne Bravo. Dwayne will be available after the t20 series in NZ and will play the final two matches for the Renegades giving them a much needed boost heading into the playoffs.
Dwayne will be replacing current Renegade international Jos Butler who has had a quiet stint so far - no official reason as to why he has been replaced has been given. But since the Technical Committee has allowed it, it would usually only do so on the grounds of that player becoming unavailable due to injury or International duty.
Mohammed Hafeez Pakistan's own professor of cricket was on the Renegades wish list, however he is currently tied up in the U.A.E in the series vs Sri Lanka.

Re: KFC Big Bash 2013-14
Scorchers won toss and elected to bat....and right away they are in trouble. Lee strikes in the first over WHICH GOES FOR A DOUBLE WICKET MAIDEN! taking the bails off Craig Simmons stumps. Simmons didn't do well in filling Shaun Marsh's position. and Lee also took the wicket of Mitchell Marsh.
Katich however has taken over proceedings and is currently on 28(19) with youngster Sam Whiteman 14(17)
6ers are benefiting from the return of skipper Steve Smith and fellow test player Nathan Lyon. Also (Giant of a man) Chris Tremlet makes his BBL debut.
6ers re-invigorated and Scorchers depleted thanks to the up coming ODI series.
