First topic message reminder :

Discuss here about India's Tour of Australia(Test Series Only)
Test Series Preview:
Well,we waited for this series for long and finally the moment has come before this historic series gets underway at MCG on 26th Dec,2011.
India have never won a series in Australia although their 1st tour down under came way back in 1947-48.While India had their moments to win a series in India especially in 1977-78 series when Kerry Packer's involvement with the game divided the Australian Cricket into pieces. No one can forget Bob Simpson's returning to cricket at the age of 41 after retirement and captaining his side, along with scoring 539 runs in the series because the main Australian Players had joined hands with Kerry Packer and hence they were left out by ACB.But Australia still manged to win the series 3-2.
If 1977-78 was historic,1980-81 series is remembered for Gavaskar's walking off the field along with Chetan Chauhan in protest of Umpire's decision.
1990-91 tour down under saw Sachin Tendulkar making his mark on Kangaroos soil with hundred's at Adelaide and Perth.
In 1999-00 series,Australia demolished the Indians and white washed them by 3-0 in spite of Tendulkar's and VVS Laxman's heroics at MCG and SCG respectively.
In 2003-04 series,Australia had no answer to stop Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman.Dravid piled up 700+ runs, while Laxman was not to behind. It was also remembered for Steve Waugh's historic farewell at SCG when his team mates gave him a grand farewell by lifting him on their shoulders and circling the entire SCG with loud applause from SCG crowd. In spite of Dravid and Laxman's heroics and Ganguly,Tendulkar's hundred's at Gabba and SCG respectively, india still failed to win the series and drew 1-1.
2007-08 series was marred by controversy at SCG test which took an huge impact on the game.At one stage india threatened to boycott the series.
Eventually, through compromises the matter was settled down.India lost 2-1.
Still the official's of that test match believes that Justice was not done.
Now, its 2011.Everything has changed since then.MS Dhoni saw his rise to glory. While Tendulkar,Dravid,Laxman have also saw their fate going up and down.India won the World Cup, 2011.Australia lost a home series for the 1st time in 16 yrs.Australia lost Ashes twice and 1st time at home since 1986-87.Ricky Ponting saw his fall from grace.Michael Clarke became the new captain of Australia.Australia registered their lowest score in more than 100 yrs when they were bowled out for 47.They lost a to kiwis at home for the 1st time since 1985.
India won't forget what happened in England earlier this year when they were white washed 4-0.They have shown significant improvement since then.
On the other hand,Australia hampered by injuries to their strike bowlers, poor form of veteran players, unsettled team and the list goes on..........
In short,This is India's best chance to win a series down under and they are clear favorites. But we know how Australia strike back whenever they are in great adversity. In Nathan Bracken's Words
"When Travesty Prevailed, someone always stood up"

Its Because the Humiliation is still there in my mind.
Unless Australia demolish India in Test, T20 and ODi's, it won't be deleted

47/10 is not up and down situation

in 1882, same thing was written by english writer when England failed to chase 85 in 4th innings which gave birth to ashes.

I just modified in this case

India tour of Australia, Australia vs India
3rd Test,Western Australia Cricket Association Ground, Perth , Fri Jan 13 - Tue Jan 17, 2012

Few stats :
Day 2:

1.The 214-run stand between David Warner and Ed Cowan was Australia's first 200-plus stand for the first wicket since Phil Jacques and Simon Katich added 223 against West Indies in Barbados in June 2008. Between 2001 and 2005 Australia had seven such stands, six of them by Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer.

2.Only ten times in Test cricket has a team had a bigger lead over the opposition's first-innings score at the fall of their first wicket. The highest is 163, in a Test between South Africa and Zimbabwe in Cape Town in 2005, when Zimbabwe were bowled out for 54 and South Africa lost their first wicket at 217. Three of those ten instances have involved Zimbabwe or Bangladesh. This is also India's worst such instance: their previous poorest was in 1967 also against Australia, when they were bowled out for 173 and Australia lost their first at 191.

3.Warner scored his 180 off 159 balls, which is the seventh-fastest 150-plus score in Tests. Four of the nine fastest such scores have come against India.

4.On the 15 previous occasions when teams have taken a 200-plus lead in a Perth Test, only once have they not won the match. That happened way back in 1989, when Mark Greatbatch(146 not out) saved New Zealand with a 655-minute innings, after they'd fallen behind by 291 in the first innings.
