Re: Castle Lager CWC June 2017 | Team Reviews
The Roaring Warriors
The bookies' favourite! The Warriors have thus-far proven the pre-tournament predictions regarding them right, going from strength to strength as the tournament progresses to the business end.
Batting :
Unlike a majority of teams in CW,Roaring Warriors seem to rely on their mighty batting unit, which, other than the rare blip against Alfastars, has consistently churned out noteworthy performances, enabling the bowling unit to go all out.
Top Performers :
Syed Aqi
CwSim's first and only perfect All-Rounder. Expect nothing less from this man,who has time and again saved RW the blushes. With scores of 45,50 and 24 coming lower down the order, Aqi has made sure RW don't suffer from the collapses other teams seem prone to.
How he performs in the upcoming matches will play a huge role in determining RW's position in this CWC.
Can CwSim's best player guide his team to the title?
Neeraj Dagar
Now, when I say Neeraj Dagar, it's not just for his batting abilities but also for how RW have based their batting line-up around him. As we've often seen, a failure for Neeraj usually results in a failure of the entire batting unit. He might not have been at his best thus far but big match players always rise to the occasion.
He skippered RW to a T20 Boom victory. Can he now lead them with the bat in their quest for the CWC?
Bowling :
You know a team is world class when the team's weaker trait performs better than the stronger one. Having scalped 34 wickets in these four matches, with the highest total conceded being 235, RW has shown everyone why they are firm favourites to be on winners' podium come 25th.
Top Performers :
Imad Wasim
The spin sensation. RW's newest recruit has repaid the faith the management has shown in him with 7 wickets in just 2 matches. A fifer in the first match followed by a 2 wicket haul in the second make for a pleasant reading and RW will look up to the Aqi-Wasim pair to get them through those troublesome middle overs unharmed.
Peaking at the right time
Eishan Jain
The serial wicket-taker is back, WITH A BANG! The T20 Boom Purple Cap holder had seemingly gone off the radar after some ordinary showings in the tours but well, cometh the hour cometh the man, he's back with those deadly toe crushers and skillful variations to help RW through the death overs. With 7 wickets already, one can only guess how many he'll end up with.
Putting in all his experience at the biggest stage
The X Factor
Parth Dedhia
Once a legend, always a legend. He may not have had the best of starts on his return to CwSim but only an idiot would count this man out. His abilities, both with the ball and the bat, have been key to RW's success over these 2 months and Parth will be hoping to come good sooner than later
Will the big man rise to the occasion?
