Hurricanes
The Table-Toppers! The Hurricanes sure have been on a roll, currently on a 7 match unbeaten streak, and look hot favourites to win this edition of CWC.
Batting :
While they are predominantly a bowling heavy team, the batting unit has stepped up and has been incredibly consistent, thus giving the bowlers the freedom to express themselves.
Top Performers :
Quinton De Kock
Having already amassed 262 runs at an incredible average of 131 with 2 centuries to his name, this South African sensation has already proved his mettle at the biggest stages of CwSim. The opener will be crucial to the Hurricanes' plans as we enter the second phase of the tournament.
Can he continue his sensational form and guide the Hurricanes to the cup?
Kane Williamson
No batting list is complete without this Kiwi Superstar. The Hurricanes skipper has been in imperious form this summer, having already scored two half centuries including one in the first match to save the team from a collapse. He has proven his captaincy nous too with some superb bowling changes and effective fields throughout the tournament.
The skipper will hold key to where the Hurricanes will finish come the end of CWC
Bowling :
The core strength of HR. They possess, arguably, the most potent bowling line-up in this World Cup, having covered all bases to make life difficult for the opponent batsmen, some of whom have even complained of extreme torture from the Hurricanes.
Top Performers :
Sri Ganesh SG
A veteran of the game, Sri Ganesh remained a free agent throughout the last month, much to the surprise of fans and pundits alike. He looked all set to watch the CWC from his, well, PC/Smart phone. The Hurricanes though managed to secure his services in a last minute signing and boy, what a signing he has been! 8 wickets in 3 innings make for a solid reading. He will be keen on continuing this form and helping his team along to glory.
Can he neutralise an underwhelming debut in the T20 Boom with a glorious CWC?
Sanjay P Nambiar
The Lord! Who would've ever thought Sanjay would feature in a bowling list? But here he is, basking in the glory of a superb start to his stint as a bowler. He has seemingly picked wickets at will, making the new ball do all kinds of stuff as he torments opponent batsmen.
Just a flash in the pan or an exemplary player?
The X-Factor
Haseeh PP
If there's one person who has been instrumental in their success so far, it has to be Haseeh. Already known for his superb bowling skills, Haseeh has showcased his abilities with the bat too this term as an opener, providing stable starts up the order for the incoming hard hitters to play their natural game. While he hasn't exactly been required at the bowling end of things, having him provides Hurricanes that extra edge with most teams look for.
The owner has proved his naysayers wrong with some incredible performances.
