Re: ICC Champions Trophy 2013
ICC cricket committee recommends legitimising switch-hit
The International Cricket Committee (ICC) on Wednesday took a couple of key decisions while concluding the two-day meeting of its cricket committee in London, including setting a marker for Test playing nations to keep their Test status intact.
In an attempt to ensure that Test cricket was protected, the committee has recommended that all Test playing Members should be required to play a minimum number of Test matches over a four-year period in order to maintain their Test status. The committee was in particular concerned about Tests being postponed to make room for other formats of the game, prompting them to make the recommendation.
The cricket committee also agreed with MCC's recommendation that the switch-hit be considered a legitimate part of the game. ICC received a report from the MCC on the switch hit/reserve sweep that included feedback from current andformer players as well as international umpires and acceptedthat the shot was exciting and required a lot of skill.
ICC Chief Executive David Richardson said the recommendations will be forwarded to the ICC Chief Executives' Committee and the ICC Board. "I'm thankful to the committee members for their valuable contribution and input. The discussions over the last coupleof days have been of the highest standards and a lot of positive ideas and proposals have come out of these discussions.
"The committee's recommendationwill now be taken forward to the ICC Chief Executives' Committee and the ICC Board as required and then we will seek to roll out the agreed decisions from October 2013," he said.
In addition to the above, the committee noted and discussed papers relating to over-rates, progress made with the development of new DRS technology, women's cricket, umpire performances, pink ball trials, illegal bowling actions and helmet safety research.

Re: ICC Champions Trophy 2013
Sri Lanka is a side that can be compared to the solar system. As the planets in the solar system revolve around the sun, the entire lankan team always revolves around 3-4 good players which has been their success.
Again, DILSHAN, SANGAKKARA, JAYAWARDENA will lead the lankan side and will make sure that the island nation in the indian ocean recieves some dignity in the nation where the kohinoor is situated.
These 3 stalwarts have been out of form (IF U CONSIDER IPL TO BE UNFIXED AND REAL CRICKET) and will look to make a strong statement. Also the captain ANGELO has been on the losing cause if you see Ipl..
The bowling department is in the safe hands of KULASEKARA- THE CHAMPION OF SWING AND MOVEMENT and HERATH- THE EXCELLENCE OF CONTAINMENT..
This side is also have youngsters like thirimanne who have shown that they are quite capable to get the train on track if being derailed..
SQUAD:
Angelo Mathews (captain),
Dinesh Chandimal (vice captain),
Tillakaratne Dilshan,
Kusal Janith Perera,
Kumar Sangakkara,
Mahela Jayawardena,
Lahiru Thirimanne,
Jeevan Mendis,
Thisara Perera,
Lasith Malinga,
Rangana Herath,
Nuwan Kulasekera,
Shaminda Eranga,
Sachithra Senanayake,
Chanaka Welagedera.

**CHAMPIONS TROPHY TEAM EXHIBITION**
$$$INDIA: THE WORLD CHAMPIONS$$$
(PLS LIMIT THIS POST TO DISCUSS INDIAN TEAM ONLY)
IPL is over and more so these bunch of massively reputed guys are again rejuvinated to commence their dominance on the format they have loved the most and exceled the most.
I wont write much about the big guys likevthe kohlis and the dhonis and all. But would focus on some areas that provide a cause of concern.
One area is definitely the opening slot. SHIKHAR DHAWAN and MURALI VIJAY are most likely to open atleast in the 1st game against south africa. It will be good to see the way they handle the new ball and Dinesh Karthik will make them push for his place.
Rohit Sharma has had an amazing ipl if you count that to be cricket, but then he has to now prove to the entire country that the faith that has been restored wont go in the garbage. Best wishes to rohit.
The biggest worry to me is MS DHONI'S HASTINESS. What you dont want is 3 pacers and 2 spinners going in a game IN ENGLAND. But with jaddu and ashwin in the squad, he might pick both of them that can be a problem.
The might of india is nothing less than any side. The favorites to me to lift the trophy..
SQUAD:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Shikhar
Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Dinesh
Karthik, Murali Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra
Jadeja, R Ashwin, Irfan Patan, Umesh Yadav,
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Amit
Mishra, Vinay Kumar
GROUP RESEMBLANCE: B
OTHER SIDES:
PAKISTAN
SOUTH AFRICA
WEST INDIES.
