CWC Jan 2013 | Group B : The Blue Knight Hawks v The Hurricanes | 10th January
First topic message reminder :
The Hawks lost a thrilling last game against the Bolts and will now face the Hurricanes in another interesting match up. These teams have played a number of games in the recent past which makes this game even more spicier ! The Hurricanes are coming from a loss against the Shadows where their batting failed terribly. They over depended on Chris Gayle in the last game and as soon as he departed the whole team departed like a pack of cards. Will be interesting to see what lineup they use tonight.
The main power of The Hawks lies in their spinners. They have three front line spinners who can turn the game into their favor anytime. Their batting has not been that consistent so far. Kallis has failed to make a big impact yet for them while Sehwag has played some crucial knocks. Their middle order is a reason to worry about which they will need to improve on.
Swann along with Razzak and Herath destroyed the Bolt's line up in the last game. The pacers have been a bit expensive in all their games so far. Hence they would want their pacers to bowl as well as their spinners tonight.
The Hurricanes were totally outplayed in the last game vs The Shadows where neither their batsman nor their bowlers could do any good. It was a shameful performance from the boys in purple in front of their home crowd and they will definitely not want a similar performance tonight. A lot rests on their batting which has some of the bests. The only questions is can they perform as well as they look on paper ?
Ryan Tendoeschate was one of the most consistent batsmen for HR but of late, he has not been able to consolidate on the starts that he is getting. He will want to play a longer innings and help his team score big.
