11.6 R Ashwin to Compton
4 FOUR! That's risky! Flighted
and full, wide, Compton goes
for the drive and edges it wide
of first slip. The ball races away
and gives England their first
boundary.

W OUT! His cameo ends! Chips
down once again and lofts it
high towards the brilliant
substitute, Jordan Silk who
continues to field well. He runs
around towards deep mid-
wicket.

Lunch on the fourth morning.
England managed 17 runs in
the session off 13 overs, clear
tactics from their side. India
won't mind this right now but
they'll need wickets at some
stage, because they are pushing
for a result here.

6th 5 wicket haul for P Siddle
from the strong position they
are in now and score quickly to
amass a decent target for the
tourists in the fourth innings.
Join us for the Australian
batting in a few minutes.
Australia fought back after a
huge partnership from
Mathews and Dilshan who
nearly took the game away
from the hosts. They put up a
better bowling performance
after lunch and tea to root the
Lankans out for a total with
which they can carry on a
decent lead as they go in to bat
for the second time in this
match.

4.3 N Kulasekara to Cowan
4 FOUR! Down the ground! Kula
bowls full around off, 125.5
kph, Cowan presents the full
face of the bat to drive it well
past the mid off fielder.

7.4 C Welegedara to D Warner
4 FOUR! Edged and safe! On a
good length outside off at
125.3 kph, Warner pushes hard
at that and the outside edge
carries right through third slip
and gully.

23.5 R Ashwin to Cook
4 FOUR! Gorgeous! Cook gets a
boundary and that's a bit of a
surprise. A genuine half-volley
though, comes forward and
drives it crisply through extra
covers.

12.5 S Eranga to Ed Cowan
4 FOUR! Not intentional but
gets the result. A short of a
length delivery, extra zip off the
surface, Cowan was looking to
leave but then opens the face at
the last moment, it flies off the
top edge over the slip cordon.

Re: SHAMMY SAM - Sports Centre
With scattered rains on the
horizon, the openers did well to
negotiate the seaming
conditons and Australia would
now look to bat till at least Tea
tomorrow and declare once
again.
Peter Siddle showed that his
transformation from a sturdy
average bowler to the leader of
the already injury-ridden pace
battery has been such an asset
for Australia. If not for his ever
so burning passion to put
100% in every ball, most of the
wickets wouldn't have come.
Sri Lanka did fight back, being
down at 4/87 at one stage, led
by their prolific opener
Tillakaratne Dilshan who scored
a superb century and was
handed in support by Mathews.
Australia did not bowl poorly
but failed to grab some half-
chances that came their way.
One can say that Australia are
riding home the advantage at
the current moment. The bold
declaration by Michael Clarke at
450, which wasn't agreed upon
by many, has come in the
equation and has proven to be
a masterstroke.

37.1 R Jadeja to Trott
5NB FOUR! NO BALL! What just
happened there? Worst ball
ever in Test history? The ball
slipped out of Jadeja's hand, it
went on many a bounces
towards short leg. Trott took a
late decision to come down,
Pujara moved aside and Trott
then whacked it through mid-
wicket. The umpire signals no
ball and a boundary. That was
funny!

4 FOUR! Put away! A delivery full
on the pads, Trott stays back
and whips it nicely through
square leg. There's a gap and
the ball races away.

55.5 R Jadeja to Pietersen
W OUT! Bowled 'em! Oh dear!
Pietersen leaves it alone and
loses his off stump. Identical
dismissal to that of Trott in the
first innings, huge error in
judgement. A delivery coming in
straight from outside off and KP
makes a complete mess of it.
Jadeja has got a breakthrough
for India and the crowd love it.

4 FOUR! Good shot! Bit short
outside off, Trott rocks back
and whips it through mid-
wicket. The ball dies onto the
fence.
