Stand-by Players for Sri Lanka: Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Jeevan Mendis, Akila Dananjaya, Ajantha Mendis
Opener Dimuth Karunaratne has been named in Sri Lanka's squad to Australia for three Tests, the first of which begins in Hobart on December 14. Fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep also finds a place in the squad, but 19-year-old offspinner Tharindu Kaushal, who is with the team for the ongoing home series against New Zealand, has not been named. Pradeep is the only addition to the squad for the New Zealand Tests, and is one of five quick bowlers in the 16-man party to Australia.
Pradeep has played three Tests for Sri Lanka, two of which were in July against Pakistan. Shaminda Eranga, who came back from an injury layoff in Galle to take three wickets in the New Zealand first innings, has retained his place, as has Nuwan Kulasekara. Chanaka Welegedara and Dhammika Prasad are the other seam bowlers, while Rangana Herath and Suraj Randiv will provide the spin options.
Fast-bowling allrounder Thisara Perera has not been named. He took four wickets and made 75 in the last Test he played in July. He had also bowled well in Australia in an ODI tri-series earlier in the year. Lahiru Thirimanne, who bats in the middle order in limited-overs cricket, also misses out. Both men are on standby, alongside allrounder Jeevan Mendis, and spinners Akila Dananjaya and Ajantha Mendis.

of course buddy
AT PRESENT AFTER MICHAEL HUSSEY AND MICHAEL CLARKE HE IS THE ONLY AUSTRALIAN IN FORM
HE scored 153 in Ryobi one day Cup match
and followed by 100 in Sheffield
and another 50 in Ryobi
He averages 83 in Ryobi one day Cup and 67 or some thing odd in Sheffield
THIS SEASON,HE WAS IN THE FORM OF HIS LIFE...
Such hugely he scored after being Shifted to Red backs from New South Wales
NSW Would be kickin themself for letting him go

hell yeah
Punter goes out and i am definitely damn sure
Either of Phil Hughes or Alex Doolan will COME into Side
no chance for Khawaja
he failed horribly in RYOBI ONE DAY CUP
and if Cowan will be dropped
then Doolan gets his place
Hughes as opener
Doolan at 4

Sorry
No chance for him
because There is ALEX DOOLAN infront of him
If Khawaja was there in chance he could have been picked for Saffers practice match
Doolan scored 161 against Dasty,Philander,Morne...
and more over Khawaja doest play at 4
if i am right and inverarity's brain is workng correctly
They will get in HUGHES as opener and Doolan at 4
and KICK OUT WADE and get in Brad Haddin

m damn sure in this practice match
if Doolan scores he will be in MAIN XI IN NEXT MATCH VS LANKANS AT HOBART
IF Khawaja scores he will be in MAIN XI
and if both of them score ...no wonder if Inverarity Kick out Hughes and get in Khawaja as opener and Doolan at 4

Re: Thread for Sri Lanka Tour of Australia, 2012/13
Lankan Coach Graham Ford admits that His side is not well prepared for Australia series.
"I was hoping that we would have a very good Test series against New Zealand which would be a fantastic way of preparing for the Australia series particularly as they have a useful seam outfit," Ford said.
"If we could pass the test against this seam bowling we would know we were in quite a good position to take on Australia. Unfortunately we didn't really pass the test with flying colours although there were quite a few batsmen that showed some decent form.
"I was hoping for a lot better than that but there were signs that we were starting to find our feet against pace, but what we are really gaining out of it (we had a chat about it as well) was that we now realise that we are not quite ready for the Australians. Once we get there the work that we do is going to be very intense. We are going to have to practise outside our comfort zone so that we are ready for what they are going to throw at us."
