The Indian Cricket Board (ICC) announced the six teams for the CW Twenty20 competition last week.The board had initially thought of holding a corporate based Twenty20 tournament but due to a lack of interest from the corporate houses, decided instead to give the six teams to clubs. The CW Officials announced that the tournament is expected to start from December. The matches will be held at official Stadiums. The cricket board planned the tournament to function as practice for the national team, who have a busy schedule from January onward which includes mega events like Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20.Former Indian skipper Gautam Gambhir will lead the Eccentric Eagles.He is a very experienced guy who have lead many teams like Kolkata Knight Riders.

      Gautam Gambhir born 14 October 1981), affectionately known as Gauti, is one of the leading cricketers in the Indian Cricketers A left-handed opening batsman, who can also play in the middle order, he made his One Day International debut for India against Bangladesh in 2003, and played his first Test the following year, this time against Australia. He was the captain of the ODI team from late-2010 to late-2011. He is currently the highest run-scorer for India in the Twenty20 Internationals and 9th highest in the ODIs. Fellow Indian team-mate Virender Sehwag called him "the best Indian opener since Sunil Gavaskar".
