Who will win ?
CWC Jan 2013 | Group B : The Hurricanes v Thunderbolts | 4th January
First topic message reminder :
The Home team will be in action later tonight when they take on the Thunderbolts. These two teams have faced off on several occasions earlier too and the Thunderbolts have the better record. The Hurricanes had a dismal performance in the T20 Boom where they lost their early matches but later on won a couple of matches and earned the tag of party spoilers. They would definitely want to remove that tag and instead try to win more matches this time.
Their batting as always will be a reason to worry about as their main batsmen have always failed to perform on important occasions. Their bowling line up is very strong on the other hand which has some of the greats of the game in the form of Shane Warne, Brett Lee and Wasim Akram. If their batting does better than they have done in the past, they can be a lethal team in this third edition of the Cricket World Cup.
One of the key player to watch out for in the Cricket World Cup from the HR squad is Kevin Pietersen. He is one of the most experienced guys in the side and his presence should help the team to a great extent.
The Thunderbolts are another team with same fortune as the Hurricanes. They have a better record against the Hurricanes. Their main weapon against the Hurricanes will be their pace attack which comprises of Shane Bond and Irfan Pathan. Shane Bond in the past has disturbed many HR Batsmen with his pace and movement. Irfan an ex Hurricane player has been an impressive addition to the Thunderbolts squad who is having a great time at the Anz.
They have a solid batting lineup with greats like Inzamam in their rank. Dilshan and Misbah provide additional support to the team and will aid them a lot as they are more accustomed with these Indian conditions.
If Dilshan gets going tomorrow, he might break a few records at ease. He is the first player to get a 100 in the T20 format in CW and he got it against the same opponent in a crunch game.
