CWC June 2012 | Shadows vs Hurricanes | Group B Match 6 | 14th June 2012
First topic message reminder :
After a very clinical performance against the Cosmos, the Shadows are high on confidence. They were absolutely dominant with the bat. Most of the batsmen found their form. The opening stand of Raminder and Dravid was even more successful than the previous one. With Bravo and Styris in good touch, they now don't need to worry much about the middle order. If just the likes of Bell and Johny can chip in a little more, then this side would be even more dangerous with the bat.
Styris needs to continue his good batting to provide stability to the middle order. Previous match: 47* (45)
Even with the ball, the team put up a good performance. Harris and Anurag were among wickets. Deepak was wicketless yet again, but he was very economical. Just Hassan was a little expensive, but he bowled good in the middle overs. A few runs were leaked in the last two overs, but in the end, that didn't really matter. However, if they concede a little less runs, then it would put a little less pressure on the batsmen.
The captain Anurag will have to pierce through the weakish top order of the Hurricanes and get some crucial wickets. Previous Match: 3/51
Now they are facing an incredible bowling unit in the Hurricanes. So they need to gear up and be ready to face this challenge.
Another great performance against the Dynamos meant 2 out of 2 wins for the Hurricanes. They restricted the Dynamos to a lowish total and their batsman were able to chase it in under 40 overs. A bit of fumble towards the end though, as they were 6 wickets down. But their tailenders managed to get them across the line. Their batting still remains a concern, as their opening batsmen are failing to score. Only ten Doeschate and Haseeh are consistent, and they will need to continue their efforts. Besides these two, every other batsman is failing and they will need to improve that before this clash.
Ten Doeschate will need to keep on going with his incredible form with the bat and will have to deliver with both bat and bowl. Previous Match: 73 (87) and 1/30.
Their bowling has been the best by far in Group B. They have not allowed the batsman to score much runs at all. They always succeed at limiting the opponent side to low scores. Their strike bowlers- Lee and Morkel have bowled fast and in the right areas to get quick wickets. The captain Parth has lead from the front with his big-turning spin and has got a lot of wickets. The other spinner- Fahad has been very economical and he was also among wickets in the last game.
The captain Parth will play a very crucial role and will need to get quick wickets as well as be economical. Previous Match: 2/59
This time their bowling faces a great batting side in Shadows. They will have to restrict them to a low score if they have to win. Their batting lineup can't be trusted upon when chasing big targets so they'll have to work on their batting a lot as well.
Raminder Singh V/s Morne Morkel
Rahul Dravid V/s Parth Dedhia
Deepak Nayak V/s Ryan ten Doeschate
