Sydney , one of the greatest fast bowler in history played ony 27 tests had taken 189 wickets in that.

He has taken 6900 + wickets in all forms of cricket at an average of just 8 which is best by any bowler in history.

By the way, he is a ancient cricketer when our great grandparents were also not born

Sydney barnes has taken 49 wickets in a series vs SA . It is still 99 year old record made in 1913. yet to be broken

Had he played all the 5 tests he would have taken 50 + wickets in that series. he played 4 out of 5 tests.

I am sure this record will never be broken in future

Its just impossible.

Only Ashes has 5 test matches.

Today's bowlers are incapable of taking wickets at such rate. Even dale steyn cant do it.

Barnes like bowlers are born once in 1000 yrs
