Who will reach the finals first??
Emirates IPL | Qualifier 1 | Pune Warriors India vs Gujarat Dandiyars | 03 November 2012 | 7 PM IST
First topic message reminder :
Credits:Parth
Since this is an important match for both teams, they would give their maximum to enter the FINAL.Both are very good teams with a lot of talents.November 3 will witness some real action if
both of the team played to their potential
ARE YOU GUYS READY??????????
THE TEAMS
The only unbeaten team in Emirates IPL.
The opening combo of Arjun and Shahzad will hold the key for PWI who may exploit the batting conditions of EMIRATES PARADISE.The presence of two wonderful spinners,MIshra and Ahmed can trouble the deep batting of GD
Moreover, the blazing form of the skipper is also a good positive for them.If they play to their full potential, even GD cant stop them
NAQI : Well we may hav won 6 out of 6.But this is the real stage to perform. We cant afford to choke after playing so well in the group games.GD is a good team and I respect them. But sorry,we really need this win and get to the final first.
Bowling in this pitch wil be a real challenge for pacers.ITs a batting paradise and we hope our spinners and batsmen do their best.Hope 4 a good game
A bit luckier team, they said :bitch: They bounced from tough situations they never said :bitch:
One big guy named Inzamam-Ul-Haq can turnover the game with both bat and ball.Richard Levi and PD are also looking gud means they too have a challenging opening stand.Their only concern will be the formlessness of Rishabh.
Bowling has been inconsistent, but is delivering when required.Rahul Sharma will be the key in this slowish track as he can confuse the batsmen.
If they can shine in all 3 departments,PWI will have to w8 further to reach the FInALE
Rahul Sharma : Well,I played a match for PWI.They got some serious talent. This track looks useful to me and other spinners. This may favour PWI more as they have 2 serious spinners.Hope 4 a gud game

0.1: N Kazmi (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Pitched right up, swinging back into the batsman, he is on the front foot and drives it back to Naqi.
0.2: N Kazmi (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 1 runs
Outside the off stump, driven through the covers, almost, almost pierces the in-field but Mishra at short cover dives to his left to save it, only a single off the ricochet.
0.3: N Kazmi (VeryDefensive) to P Dedhia (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Jumps down the track, does that rather early and Naqi shortens the length outside the off stump, almost chops it back on
0.4: N Kazmi (VeryDefensive) to P Dedhia (VeryAggressive) - 1 runs
Short of length, outside the off stump, cut to Shehzad at covers, they went for the single and the fielder had time to line up and shy at the stumps, misses and Levi survives.
0.5: N Kazmi (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 2 runs
Outside the off stump, shorter from the bowler, cut away to extra-cover for a couple of runs.
0.6: N Kazmi (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 1 runs
Short of length this time, not really a bouncer but the batsman had to go back in crease and tucks it away to backward square-leg, runs away for a quick single.

Score: 5/0 from 1.0 overs (RR: 5.00)

1.1: A Mishra (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 1 runs
Outside the off stump, pitched right up to the bat, goes for a drive, gets an outside edge and it absolutely flies away to third-man for a single.
1.2: A Mishra (VeryDefensive) to P Dedhia (VeryAggressive) - 4 runs
A full toss and Parth has dispatched it, placing it into the gap on the cover boundary
1.3: A Mishra (VeryDefensive) to P Dedhia (VeryAggressive) - 4 runs
Another full toss on the pads and the same outcome, Parth flicks and flicks with power, hitting it in front of square
1.4: A Mishra (VeryDefensive) to P Dedhia (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
On his pads, this time he does not go down the track, moves to the off stump to flick it away but hits the pads
1.5: A Mishra (VeryDefensive) to P Dedhia (VeryAggressive) - OUT! 0 runs
lbw! Parth looks disappointed but if there was no edge, that is plumb. Mishra bowled on a good length and very straight. Parth cleared his front foot and swung across the line. He was hit on the back pad in front of middle. That is plumb.
P Dedhia lbw b: A Mishra 9 (6b 2x4) at a S/R of 150.00
Rishabh Tandon is the new batsman, to face Mishra. Rishabh yet to perform well in this season.

Score: 14/1 from 1.5 overs

R Tandon 0* (0b)

In the blockhole, Levi stays back and plays towards extra cover
11.4: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to R Tandon (VeryAggressive) - 1 runs
Full and straight, Rishabh makes room by moving towards leg and square drives through point
11.5: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 2 runs
Length ball and Levi pulls it towards cow corner, Arjun sprints a long way to his right from long-on and dives to make the save
11.6: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 4 runs
He's carved that with one hand to the boundary! Levi moved towards leg to make room, arched his back and then cut loose, flaying his bat at a slower ball to slash it to the third man boundary

12.1: S Clark (VeryDefensive) to R Tandon (VeryAggressive) - 4 runs
Too short and Rishabh has blitzed it, swivelling and pulling with oodles of power to the backward square leg boundary for 4 runs. 15th boundary for Rishabh but no Sixes yet.
12.2: S Clark (VeryDefensive) to R Tandon (VeryAggressive) - OUT! 0 runs
Straighter one from Clark and the batsman tried to go for the reverse sweep, he missed it and that one seemed to be crashing straight into the stumps. A brilliant knock comes to an end. Clark got the big fish.

There's swing and seam movement for Clark, who shoots one across Jacques's bows as the batsman leaves alone
12.4: S Clark (VeryDefensive) to P Jaques (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Left on length by DrJacques, the ball coming in at him off the pitch once more. There isn't all that much bounce in this track, brave leave
12.5: S Clark (VeryDefensive) to P Jaques (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Jacques defends on the walk, but his head is right over the ball as he keeps it out
12.6: S Clark (VeryDefensive) to P Jaques (VeryAggressive) - 1 runs
That's the right line and length from Clark. He pitches up to the bat on off stump, and is tapped down behind gully for one. A successful over for Clark no doubt

13.1: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to P Jaques (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Excellent delivery! This one nips back inwards and squares him up, close to the off stump, nearly takes the edge
13.2: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to P Jaques (VeryAggressive) - 1 runs
Tucked towards mid-on and they have to scamper the single
13.3: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - NO BALL... 2 runs
Glanced through the leg side ... and Hollioake has overstepped
13.3: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to P Jaques (VeryAggressive) - FREE HIT... 1 runs
Back of a length and Jacques hoists a baseball-style shot out towards deep midwicket, he's picked out the fielder so it'll just be one
13.4: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 2 runs
Gets a top edge as he tries to clear mid-on but he gets enough to beat the fielder, close call for Levi
13.5: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Tries to run that down to third man and he misses it, he's done that already
13.6: A Hollioake (VeryDefensive) to R Levi (VeryAggressive) - 6 runs
More than a few rows back! Hollioake tosses it up and Levi takes a few paces forward and lofts over long-on. That's the first six of the innings and Playoffs. A good way to end the over no. 14

Bouncer again and he has been pulled away for a four over short fine-leg, it surprised the batsman with the pace but he went through with the shot, the fielder was back pedalling but does not get his hand on it, four for Rishabh!
9.5: M Ahmed (VeryDefensive) to R Tandon (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Round the stumps, angling in, pitched up, pushed to mid-off, call of no by one of the batsmen
9.6: M Ahmed (VeryDefensive) to R Tandon (VeryAggressive) - 0 runs
Driven off the front foot to long off. Mushtaq finishes his spell but he was not impressive tonight. Gave away lots of runs in his 4 overs

2 in 2, exact replica of the previous shot but slightly straighter this time, punches it past the bowler
10.4: A Mishra (VeryDefensive) to R Tandon (VeryAggressive) - 4 runs
Short, Rishabh bends and scoops it high over behind the keeper and gets a boundary for that, top shot! 3 in 3

length ball and Rishabh pulls it towards cow corner, Warner sprints a long way to his right from long-on and dives to make the save

Length ball and trapped in front! The ball came back at Jacques, maybe stayed a touch low and hit him bang in line with middle stump. Gujarat Dandiyas ersatz No. 3 departs ... but there are plenty of scarier monsters lurking in this deep batting order
